Sustainability delivered: the Green Leaves Earth Champion Award 2025
The Green Leaves Earth Champion Award is now in its fifth year. Each year, our awards are presented to clients who have made a measurable difference to their Scope 3 emissions; not as a future target, but as a result already achieved through the decisions built into how their supply chain runs. This year, we are proud to present it to Insituform Linings Ltd. And this isn’t the first time.
Receiving the award reflects something more meaningful than a single strong year. It shows a consistent approach where sustainability is treated as part of Insituform Lining’s day-to-day operations, not an after-thought to tick the relevant boxes.
The numbers behind the award
In 2025, Green Leaves Logistics managed shipments for Insituform Linings Ltd covering a total distance of 711,042 km. Across those shipments, this year’s award recognises:
- 232,000 kgs CO₂e avoided from their supply chain
- 3,650 trees responsibly planted
The carbon avoidance figure is backed by certified projects, including the Nansha Hydro Power Project in Yunnan Province, China which is a Clean Development Mechanism project that displaces fossil fuel electricity generation and generates verified emission reductions.
These are auditable figures, tied to real decisions made across real shipments over the course of the year.
3,650 trees in Madagascar
The tree planting element of this year’s award is delivered through Eden Reforestation Projects, working to restore Madagascar’s mangrove forests and upland habitats.
The species planted is Rhizophora mucronata (Red Mangrove), a coastal tree with a natural lifespan of around 50 years and a lifetime CO₂ removal capacity of up to 250,000 kg.
Mangroves are among the most effective carbon-capturing ecosystems on the planet. They also protect coastlines from erosion and storm damage, support biodiversity, and provide resources for local communities.
The 3,650 trees planted on behalf of Insituform Linings Ltd will be doing that work for decades.
A partnership built on shared values
Insituform Linings Ltd has been a Green Leaves Logistics client for a number of years, and the Earth Champion Award reflects not just what’s been achieved, but how.
Their sustainability commitments run through the whole business, from product design to operational choices to how they manage their supply chain. That consistency is what makes the relationship work.
When a client and a logistics partner start from the same place, the conversation changes. Carbon isn’t something that needs to be introduced, it’s already part of how decisions are made.
That’s what this partnership looks like in practice.
“It is a great pleasure to celebrate our ongoing partnership with Insituform Linings. Our shared values regarding sustainability and service delivery keep driving our collaboration. We look forward to continued mutual success in caring for our planet in the years ahead.”
– Karen French, Co-founder, Green Leaves Logistics
“Our materials are specialist and our delivery schedules are project-critical. Part of our success is how we manage our supply chain, and there are more moving elements to it than most people realise. Partnering with a logistics company like Green Leaves makes operations easier because they understand the importance of urgency and bespoke transport as much as our commitment to sustainability. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes, and it’s reassuring to know that the planning, the carrier management, and the carbon monitoring are all part of their service.”
– Mark Bates, Managing Director, Insituform Linings Ltd
