What we’re looking for

About you

Skills and experience required:

  • Minimum 12-months internal sales/business development experience.
  • Experience with export and import seafreight (FCL/LCL) and airfreight.
  • Proven track record.
  • Experience working for a freight forwarding company.
  • Knowledge of North America, South America, Asia, Middle East trade lanes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft packages (such as Outlook, Word, Excel) and have general IT skills.
  • Great communication both verbally and in written form.

Other skills and experience you have that will benefit the role:

  • Experience working with HubSpot or similar CRM.
  • Basic Maths and Geography knowledge.
  • Experience working in an office environment.
  • A polite and friendly telephone manner.
  • The ability to ask questions, listen and apply learning.
  • The ability to manage your time and workload effectively.

Job description

What will you do?

  • Generate and qualify new sales opportunities.
  • Telephone and email prospects.
  • Complete follow-up actions.
  • Send marketing materials.
  • Arrange calls and online/offline meetings.
  • Quote prospects and clients.
  • Liaise with carriers, hauliers and agents to establish best cost options.
  • Onboard new customers and close sales.
  • CRM management: maintain records of activity in HubSpot
  • Generate activity reports and participate in the analysis of data.
  • Assist with month end reporting for internal and external parties.
  • Participate in team meetings.
  • Share your feedback and participate in goal setting and performance.
  • Contribute your ideas on how we can improve what we do.

Salary and benefits

  • Salary £ negotiable + Bonus
  • Monday to Thursday 8:45am – 5pm and Friday 08:45am – 4:00pm (with 1 hour lunch).
